Introduction - everything you need to know to start

Welcome to The Smart Guitarist!

My name is Tony Rizzotto and I'm happy to have you here. The Smart Guitarist is a structured, goal-oriented approach to learning how to play guitar. Everything you find in this program has been trustfully used for over 10 years now by me and the companies and institutions I've worked with to enrich their lives learning guitar.

Fretscapes has been used by Berklee College of Music, dozens of educators, Havard, MIT and has been featured on multiple podcasts. The original rendition of Fretscapes (circa 2014) is currently licensed by the Yamaha Corporation of America and is taught in their almost 100 schools around the U.S. and Canada - and soon throughout their thousands of locations around the world.

In the music world, there is a way of thinking about music for playing, writing, arranging and collaborating that every musical person does. It's this way of thinking that is overlooked when people start to learn guitar. What I present to you is a much more musical way to learn the instrument.

Everything in Fretscapes is a true labor of love for those who've always wanted to 'feel musical' and know that 'just doing things' will never be enough. We're playing the long-game here, but together we can get there a whole lot faster than you ever thought possible.

This is not a course where you watch me play

You paid money to learn music skill, not watch me play (you can do that over on Facebook).

The program is structured this way to help you learn musical skills that you can enjoy the rest of your life. This takes time, dedication and a real vision for how you can do this. You need to stay focused on what you can do, not what I can do.

Now, I can't give you time, but I can help you with a vision that you can dedicate your time to.

Now that you're enrolled, make sure you head over and join The Smart Guitarist Facebook Community. This is a new private group I'm growing for all my new students in 2020 and beyond. Please request to join with the email you used to sign up for this course.

Happy Playing!
